Frequently asked questions
What people usually ask us.
Do you offer IGCSE support for students at British schools in Alicante?
Yes. We help students at British schools in Alicante and the Costa Blanca with IGCSE subjects, following their school’s programme and exam board.
Which IGCSE subjects do you prepare?
Mainly the sciences and Maths: Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, as well as Economics and others on demand. Ask us if you need a specific subject.
Are classes one-to-one or in groups?
The work is individualised: each student progresses with their own plan, at their own pace. Conversation sessions take place in small groups, because speaking needs someone to talk to.
Why does a student who knows the subject get low marks in the IGCSE?
Because the exam rewards answers with a specific format and keywords, which you can see in the mark schemes. With the Barbeito Method we train that technique with past papers until it comes naturally.
Are IGCSE lessons in English or Spanish?
The content is worked on in English, as in the exam, and we explain in Spanish when it helps to understand a concept. This way students gain confidence without losing academic vocabulary.
Can I take IGCSE lessons online?
Yes, at our Alicante centre, on Calle Reyes Católicos, 61, or online, whichever fits best with the school timetable.
What sets mundoestudiante apart from other language schools in Alicante?
We apply the Barbeito Method, with more than 45 years of history behind it, which allows us to maintain a 93% pass rate and an average rating of 4.9 out of 5 based on more than 850 genuine reviews. We always start from your real level, not from a fixed course.
